Who are the best in programming? Men or Women?
Programming is a very challenging skill to be practiced by IT students and professionals. It is where the skills of finding the right path or making a path for you to achieve the goal, which is the completion of the program.
In my opinion and observation men are dominating in programming sense. The number of male programmers are much more than that of females. One of the reasons is that girls are not encouraged to experiment with computers. Speaking as a male, I did not need anyone to encourage me to experiment with computers. It was something that just came naturally. Another is that females are more into graphics and design than that of programming.
"Women want to be able to use the machines; men want to command the machines." An apparent dominance of males with regard to computer use and positive attitudes about the computer. An explanation for this gender difference may have evolved because computers were identified with math and science; and females saw themselves as lacking basic abilities necessary to succeed in such environments.
As said above, in terms of interest males are more interested in computers and commanding machines than women.
Thus making more male programmers than females. Also as I can see to the higher years, mostly male IT/CS are more into programming than females but I didn’t say that all males have the knowledge and skills, I state MOSTLY.
