Reflection Paper about the Maguindanao Massacre
Last Tuesday November 24, 2009, I was watching television and I was shock to hear the news of TV Patrol at Maguindanao City. As the May 2010 Philippine National election is fast approaching, incidents happen of violence that tends to rise due to opponent candidates conflict. And such is started by this massacre of a caravan of candidates on their way to file their candidacy accompanied by journalist to cover the filling and including the innocent people who intend to pass their way going to Cotabato City.
A glimpse of heinous crime perpetrated from a powerful people of Ampatuan Family whose background is to perform with years of practice the art of killing, murdering and assassinating people with impunity. These arrogant people thought that they could do whatever they want in that part of the country and eventually get away with it because of their motivation that they are too much powerful since that our President was Ampatuans supporter, who help Arroyo in winning the presidency again.
In the massacre 67 dead bodies were found, of which the wife, two sisters, and relatives of Esmael Mangudadatu, including the journalist and innocent people were then identified. The said incident is brought about by the rivalry of the Ampatuans & Mangudadatus. These two clans have been rivals in politics in the areas of Maguindanao, Sultan Kudarat, and Cotabato City. Some of the female victims were reportedly raped before shot point blank. The victims were about to be covered in a dug mass grave in a remote area covering all evidences including the vehicles use by the victims. The People of Mindanao were afraid or frightened because of the retaliation and underground actions of both parties may hamper justice and peaceful election in the area. The Mangudadatu may have accepted the surrender of Andal Jr. but people’s fear in the area for retaliation and underground actions of both parties may hamper justice and peaceful election in the area.
As observant of the Law in this Democratic country here in the Philippines the freedom of power given by the Ampatuan’s Family was too much. Because base on the news by the TV patrol it was discovered that being discovered by the investigator and the police that the suspects uses the guns of the government and also they did not follow the concept and function of the Philippine Constitution that serves as supreme or fundamental Law to individuals. According to Kelly Delgado, secretary-general of Karapatan, a human rights group based in Davao City, said, “The brutal crime committed by a private army of a warlord in one of the election hotspots in the country is proof of the ‘barbaric impunity’ by which the perpetrators can kill and even try to hide the crime as if no law can be applied to prevent them from committing such a brutal act in a broad daylight.” The next question is, WILL JUSTICE PREVAIL by the victims of Maguindanao Massacre? When will the killing end? Killing one can leads to more killing.

How to disable Autorun.inf in your computer
- Go to Start > Run
- Type gpedit.msc & press Enter. The Group Policy window should appear.
- On the tree menu on the left, navigate to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System.
- On the right, look for Turn off Autoplay, & double click it.
- The Turn Off Autoplay Properties window should appear. From the dropdown in Turn off Autoplay on:, select which drives you want to disable it from (I would personally recommend you select All drives).
- Click OK.
